Søren Kold
Our goal is to improve quality of life for patients with congenital or acquired limb deformities due to trauma, infection or tumors. Individualized treatments are planned for each patient, whether you are child or adult.
In 2004, after finishing a PhD in bone-implant research, I was introduced to the magical world of limb lengthening and reconstruction. Experiencing the enormous regenerative potential of bone totally changed my career. After fellow-ships in trauma and children´s orthopaedics, I established in a Reconstruction Unit at Aarhus University Hospital. Since 2017 I have been the Chair Professor of Orthopaedics at Aalborg University Hospital.
Current research areas include limb deformity correction, guided growth and intramedullary nailing in the growing child, adolescent knee pain, improved screening for developmental dysplasia of the hip as well as digital biomarkers and patient centred communication in orthopedic care.
