Line Thane Andersen
I have a deep interest in the interaction between humans and technology, with a particular focus on user-centered solutions informed by my background in techno-anthropology. My work centers on how digital technologies can be meaningfully integrated into people’s everyday lives—especially within healthcare contexts.
I am especially interested in digitalization in healthcare and have previously contributed to the development of a digital application supporting spine patients before and after surgery. This experience strengthened my interest in designing technologies that align with patients’ needs, experiences, and capabilities across clinical pathways.
Currently, I work as a research assistant on the TaKeAction project, where we are testing a digital solution to support patients following total knee arthroplasty. The project aims to prevent the development of chronic pain—a condition that can significantly affect patients’ quality of life, work ability, and social participation.
The digital solution combines AI developed at Aalborg University with the regional app platform MineAftaler and will be evaluated in a feasibility study in 2026.
TaKeAction is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Aalborg University Hospital, Aalborg University, and North Denmark Region’s Departments of Digitalization, IT, and Communication.
